S.P.Q.R. - SENATUS POPULUSQUE ROMANUS - Senat a lud rimsky.
The mason square that clear the air
are fully in deception
The rule is straight the angle clear
for greatness has direction
By the compass is abide
the points within so far and wide
no pleasure sway no profit tempt
these bounds of mason pride
Greatness what your virtues are
good deeds practised wide and far
and that secret of masonic love
is learning who you really are
For the great book knows what man can't hide
a life that's measured from inside
and on that book that oath we took
and we will break it never.
A Real Mason
My Brother, Masonry means more
Than just to wear a pin,
Or carrying a dues receipt
So the Lodge will let you in.
You wear an emblem on your coat,
And on your hand a ring.
But if your not sincere at heart
This doesn't mean a thing.
It's just an outward sign to show
The world that you belong
To this Fraternal Brotherhood
That teaches right from wrong.
What really counts lies buried deep
Within the human breast;
Masonic teaching brings it out
And puts it to the test.
If you can do outside the Lodge
The things you learn within,
Be just and upright to yourself
And to your fellow men;
Console a Brother when he's sick,
Or help him when in need
Without a thought of a reward
For any act or deed.
Conduct yourself in such a way
The world without can see
None but the best can meet the test
Laid down by Masonry.
Respect and live up to your trust
And do the best you can;
Then you can tell the world you are
A Mason and a Man!
By Brother Frank F. Baer
The Masonic Ring by bro. Howie Damron
He always shines a special light
To everyone he meets
He loves to talk
And shake the hands
Of everyone he greets
He’s always optimistic
He’ll give you anything
On his hand he proudly wears a ring
I’d seen the emblem often
On signs in many towns
And you’ll see it on old tombstones
In graveyards all around
So I asked if he would tell me
Exactly what it means
He smiled and said
I’ll tell you about this ring
Chorus
It’s the way that I can tell the world
The kind of man I am
And I put my trust
In God Above
And for brotherhood I stand
It reminds me to be honest
To remember whence I came
I’m a man that you can count on
That’s why I wear this ring
So with shaking voice
I returned all my three degrees
And just before I saw the light
While bending on my knees
The room was all so silent
All at once I got to see
My eyes begin to focus on
Dad and my own ring
Chorus
Now it’s the way
That I will tell the world
The kind of man I am
That put my trust in God above
And for brotherhood I stand
It reminds me to be honest
To remember whence I came
I’ll be a man that you can count on
That’s why I wear this ring
Tonight I watched as my son
Returned his own E.A
